Roofing Shingle

Here in San Diego and surrounding areas we have three types of roof systems that are predominantly used throughout the county. Generally, flat roof systems could have a torch down, hot mop or coating system applied. Tile roof system, however could be concrete, clay or synthetic product. The third type of roof and most predominant in San Diego is asphalt shingle roofing, more commonly known as “composition” roofing. This type of roofing system is far more durable than a flat roof or tile roof system. There are different types of asphalt shingles, from a flat looking shingle, to a shingle with profile and definition than high grade asphalt shingle with a higher definition and a more complex pattern looking almost like a shake roof system. The most common asphalt shingle that we use here in San Diego is a dimensional 30 yr or a dimensional lifetime shingle. The cost of these shingles vary by the years and longevity of the product or material.
